�Ļ�Ӱ��’s William M. Lasky School of Business, along with the School of Business Board of Fellows, are proud sponsors of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) GenAI Challenge. The prestigious event is scheduled to take place on the University’s campus on April 3rd. A total of 14 student teams will get an opportunity to participate in this innovation challenge. In addition to the cash prizes for the winning teams, the event will serve as a valuable platform for recruitment and networking opportunities throughout the day.

AWS executives and team members will be actively participating in the evaluation process of the AWS Challenge this year, offering their insights in this essential domain. A significant addition to this annual event is the introduction of a recruitment facet. Executives from AWS will host discussions with students throughout the day, regardless of their involvement in the competition, encouraging the networking attendees to come prepared with digital versions of their resumes.

The engaging day will be punctuated by a keynote speech from Gavin Jones, Account Executive at AWS. He is a renowned industry expert, with rich experience across multidisciplinary domains. His career spans 20 years in Global Investment and Retail Banking, extending across the U.S. and Europe. Since embarking on a new journey with AWS in 2019, he has been instrumental in helping manufactures transition towards electrification and autonomous vehicles. Utilizing the power of GenAI and AWS cloud, he is dedicated to accelerating customer journeys in an ever-evolving industry.

Amazon Web Services explains “The Amazon Trusted AI Challenge aims to enhance the safety, reliability, and trustworthiness of LLMs (Large Language Models) powering AI-assisted software development tools. With the rise of generative AI coding assistants, these technologies demonstrate unprecedented innovative capabilities and offer exciting opportunities to ensure responsible and reliable use.”

The upcoming competition fosters interdisciplinary collaborations by bringing together students from various academic backgrounds and diverse degree programs. These dynamic teams will present their innovative solutions specifically geared towards inhibiting a code-generating language model from initiating malicious activities such as enabling denial of service attacks, propagating malware, or instigating ransomware.

The day’s events will culminate in an awards ceremony dinner, to be held at the Milano Ballroom at �Ļ�Ӱ��. This will serve as an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the most successful teams. Keynote speaker Gavin Jones will deliver his presentation to close the evening.
